Established in 2015, and situated on 36 acres of prime land in the picturesque town of Kingston, Victoria, a small town in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range, Truffiérre Archeologico is a haven of high-quality truffle cultivation.

Located in the rural Shire of Hepburn, just 10 kms from the historic gold mining town of Creswick and about 20 kms from the Macedon Ranges spa towns of Daylesford and Hepburn, the area's rich red volcanic soil and good rainfall make it one of the best farming districts in the whole of Victoria.

The Truffiérre Archeologico story began eight years ago when Robert and Jennifer Preston, despite their non farming backgrounds, embraced the challenge of transforming their rural land holding in Kingston into a truffiérre. Though rich in agricultural history, the land had remained largely untouched for the previous 40 years.

With careful planning and strategic groundwork undergirding the project, the first French oak trees were planted in 2015, followed by a second planting a year later, each selection made with utmost consideration for optimal growth and truffle production. With careful nurturing, Truffiérre Archeologico yielded its first precious truffles a mere three years ago.

When it comes to truffle hunting, Rob and Jen rely on the unwavering  loyalty and exceptional abilities of their two beloved Lagotto Romagnolos, Enzo and Leonardo. Treasured companions, aged 13 and 2 respectively, Enzo and Leonardo accompany Rob and Jen on all their truffle hunts, diligently sniffing out the elusive treasures hidden in the soil beneath the French oaks.

At Truffiérre Archeologico, the deliciousness is in the details, as Rob and Jen bring a high level of focus and excellence. From the meticulous care of their truffle trees to the artful harvesting process, they uphold the highest standards to ensure the production of exceptional truffles.
